This Ikkat is a stunner. Ikkat sarees are made by skilled artisans that use resist dyeing on silk threads prior to weaving. Sarees from Pochampally have distinct geometric intricate designs. The complexity and planning involved makes these sarees desirable - note the elephants and complicated designs. This saree was made with the Single Ikkat technique and it depicts good mix of motifs from various patola patterns like paanpatola, elephant, chokhta. This saree comes with alternating red and gold tassels and is made with strong, durable 3 ply pure silk. It is dual-toned with a golden shine. The pallu has rows of geometric pattern and the borders, lined with red, have a golden tissue zari.
